The emergency services have been called to a house fire in Bulwell. The incident in Highbury Road was reported to Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service at 6.25pm on Sunday, August 7.
It's believed the fire may have started outside before spreading to the property, the fire service said. A spokeswoman said it was an 'ongoing incident'. She said: "We are still there dealing with it." Details of any injuries remain unclear. Two fire engines from the Stockhill and West Bridgford fire stations are in attendance. A crew from Ilkeston had earlier been called to assist.According to traffic monitoring site Inrix, Highbury Road is closed in both directions with traffic queuing due to the incident from Broomhill Road to Henrietta Street. Buses are diverting.
Inspector Liz Gaskin, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “We received reports of a fire in Highbury Road, Bulwell, shortly before 7pm tonight . Officers remain at the scene and are assisting Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service while they deal with the incident. "Highbury Road remains closed and is expected to remain closed for some time. "We would like to thank the public for their patience and ask motorists to please take an alternate route while the incident is dealt with."Meanwhile, crews have also been dealing with a separate grass fire in the area. Crews were called to Hoewood Road where 9,000 square metres of glass had caught fire. Firefighters have been using three hose reel jets.
