Crowds brave 'mud bath' Bluedot festival as 'unprecedented amount of rain' sees day tickets cancelled
Crowds braved what was described as a 'mud bath' at the Bluedot Festival on Sunday after organisers were forced to cancel day tickets due to an 'unprecedented amount of rain'.
Posts on social media likened the ground to a 'mud bath' with others opting to leave early due to the conditions. However, many festival-goers were quick to praise the festival for their handling of the situation.Bluedot issued a statement on Sunday that outlined how some areas of the festival, including the day ticket holder car park, pick up and drop off points and entrances 'impassable' due to standing water.
However organisers revealed it had 'reached the point where it is not possible to accommodate further audience vehicles on site' and told Sunday day ticket holders not to travel to the event and that they would be contacted with refund information. On social media, @carlplant tweeted: "I’ve just got home myself as the grounds were getting difficult to get about. The Bluedot team have worked non-stop to try and keep things going, thank you for the work the staff have done. See you next year hopefully."
