Proposals to build new porch, boundary wall and single-storey rear extension have angered neighbours in a suburban cul-de-sac.
His scheme has provoked objections from four nearby householders worried about loss of light, privacy and the potential reductions in value of their houses. Because of their concerns the proposal will be considered by Blackburn with Darwen Council’s planning committee on Thursday night.Following concerns from neighbours and advice from planning officers Mr Anwar has agreed to reduce the size of his new front porch.
A report by planning officer Emily Colebourne recommends to councillors approval with three conditions. It says: “The site relates to a semi-detached property located to the north of the residential cul-de-sac Chestnut Gardens. “The works have commenced for the alterations to the rear garden levels and the replacement of party/side and rear boundary walls. The application is therefore part-retrospective. It was considered the porch as initially proposed would result in a dominant and overbearing addition
