The discounted scheme means pensioners can travel on England’s longest lake with a “Freedom of the Lake” ticket for just £7.50 when the usual price is £23.
Pensioners who live in Cumbrian and North Lancashire will be able to enjoy a trip across Windermere at a major discounted price. The "Silver Sailors" discount scheme has been re-introduced by Windermere Lake Cruises.Windermere Lake Cruises’ Sales & Marketing Director Jennifer Cormack said: “We know from previous years that these discounted tickets are extremely popular with local people of retirement age.
“Silver Sailor” tickets are also available on Yellow or Red Cruise tickets which are discounted to £4.20. The usual price is £17.30 or £16.50 per person. The offer also covers the Lakeland Motor Museum at Backbarrow meaning on Fridays the ticket price will drop from £11 to £5.50. All people need to do to qualify for the Friday discounts offer is present proof of residency when booking. Tickets can be purchased from any Windermere Lake Cruises booking office, located at Bowness Pier, Lakeside Pier and Ambleside Pier. They can also be bought at the offices of the Lakeland Motor Museum.
