Major delays were caused by the crash on the busy road yesterday
A cyclist was rushed to hospital with 'life threatening' injuries following a serious crash involving a van on a busy road in Bolton. Emergency services, including an air ambulance were called to Chorley New Road following reports of the collision yesterday .
Police were called to the incident at around 4.20pm which happened on Chorley New Road close to the junction with Lostock Junction Lane. Rush hour delays were caused, diversions were put in place and an air ambulance landed nearby following the collision.A spokesperson for GMP said: “At around 4:20pm yesterday afternoon on Chorley New Road, officers were called to a serious road traffic collision involving a van and a cyclist.
"The incident happened on Chorley New Road close to the junction with Lostock Junction Lane. Both involved were travelling towards Bolton.For more of today's top stories, click here.
