The Scots will have to beat the heat in Larnaca as well as their opposition in the quest to qualify for Germany 2024.

That would mean results next midweek, when the Scots welcome the Auld Enemy to Hampden, could see a place in Germany next summer confirmed. But the likelihood is that more points will be required against either Spain next month or Georgia in November. First things first though, and getting the job done in Cyprus is all the matters for now before we can break out the lederhosen and start dreaming about cold, frothy steins.
