Wayne Burns shouted out to his daughters for help and they dialled 999
A dad-of-three was on FaceTime to his wife when he suffered a stroke after shouting his daughters for help.
After being rushed to hospital, doctors soon confirmed Wayne had suffered from a bleed stroke, which occurs when an artery suddenly starts bleeding into the brain and was put in an induced coma and ventilator where he has remained since. "He'd felt funny prior and shouted to our daughter saying someone wasn't right, he thinks he's having a stroke so he was aware of what was happening."
As Lindsay has worked as a nurse for over a decade, being forced to live away from her family during the Covid lockdown and working during the Manchester Arena bombing, people are being asked to support the family in any way they can. Lindsay, who has three children at home, added: "Doctors have tried to do this procedure but it needs to be done in theatre. "Everything is so uncertain and that unsettles me. It's horrendous to sit back and not be involved in his care as acutely trained emergency nurse and I feel so helpless.
