An 'out of control mob' murdered a 52-year-old dad on a Blackpool street in retribution for an earlier altercation, a court heard.

Mr Gibson was charged with the ABH but the case was later dismissed when Walsh said she did not want to attend court. The court heard she then struck Mr Gibson with the spade, as he told her: "Come on, let's have it, you cheeky c***." During that exchange, Walsh suffered an injury to her face, along with bruises and abrasions, with one witness suggesting he Mr Gibson had a knife.

The attack continued and spilled out of the garden into Carshalton Road, however by this time Mr Gibson was seriously injured. He sat down on a wall, but collapsed backwards, as the five defendants walked away, the court heard. Neil remained inside the house but was also arrested. He had also changed his clothes, Mr Dyer added.
