David Beckham recalls 'stupid mistake' that affected family - 'I suffered'
David Beckham has reflected on a couple of negative experiences in his incredible footballing career, including one that he said 'affected his family'.
In 1998, he was handed a red card for kicking Argentina’s Diego Simeone during the 1998 World Cup, which resulted in the England team crashing out of the tournament. But he revealed that tough love from his dad when he was growing up helped him to deal with tough times, although he admitted that he is a lot softer with his own children, Brooklyn, 24, Romeo, 20, Cruz, 18, and Harper 11, who he shares with wife, Victoria Beckham, 48.
