The prosecution has argued his crimes are worthy of a life term.The court hears arguments from David Carrick's defence barrister about the jail sentence he should face."There can be no excuse, only the shadow of an explanation," he adds.He adds that Carrick is"testament" to how"the abused" can become"the abuser", the barrister adds.
Prosecutor Tom Little KC says Carrick should face a life sentence, saying"there is a significant risk of serious harm to the public".Mr Little says a whole-life order has"scarcely ever been imposed" in non-homicide cases.
