The former Big Brother presenter suffered in silence for over a year before seeking treatment
Davina McCall has revealed that the early stages of menopause felt like kicking heroin all over again as she opens up about her struggles with ageing.
At the age of 44, Davina started hormone replacement therapy which helped to curb her symptoms of her early menopause. Speaking openly about her struggles with menopause, Davina shared: “I thought I was going mad. I even thought I was possibly getting some sort of early-onset dementia. Be the first to meet the latest showbiz babies, see the most sought after wedding pictures of the year, or take a guided tour around your favourite star's lavish multi-million pound home - all for free!“I was getting night sweats, and what was horrible is that I’m a recovering addict and it took me back to being sick and trying to recover from addiction.
The stigma surrounding menopause is something that all women will have to go through yet many women fear that it could damage their career if they spoke about it.
