A depressed dealer advertised on Snapchat, where messages were automatically deleted, during the pandemic, a court heard. Tesfaye Bennett's cannabis dealing came to light when he was stopped in a car in the Radford area on September 13, 2021.
He also declined to supply a kilo to people he didn't know. Nottingham Crown Court heard on Thursday most advertisements were put on Snapchat. Tesfaye, 30, of Caulton Street, Radford, was sentenced for supplying cannabis on January 17, 2020, and possessing cannabis with intent to supply on September 13, 2021.His barrister, Ekwall Tiwana, said the offences were committed when he was very depressed during the pandemic.
Mr Tiwana urged the judge to give his client another chance. Judge James Sampson stressed significant paraphernalia was recovered, including scales, various deal bags, two mobile phones and cash. "You have a bad record for drugs offences," he told the defendant.
