An important update for travellers today

Travellers arriving at Glasgow Airport have been warned that their journey times could be affected today as Border Force staff across the country strike.

More than 250,000 passengers arriving at UK airports have been told to expect delays due to industrial action from around 1,000 staff members of the Public and Commercial Services union. It is feared that delays in checking the passports of arriving passengers will lead to long queues which could affect other services at the airport.

The walkout will affect travellers at Glasgow, Heathrow, Birmingham, Cardiff, Gatwick and Manchester airports, and the port of Newhaven in East Sussex. The Border Force strikes will take place every day from today until the end of the year, except December 27 amid a dispute over pay, pensions, jobs, and redundancy terms.
