Ghosted ending explained: What's the deal with Aztec?
to explain just what Aztec is, who's got the passcode and whether Sadie and Cole make it out together. MajorAfter Cole and Sadie escape the clutches of Leveque's goons, he places a $1 million bounty on their heads. He mistakenly thinks Cole is The Taxman, but it's really Sadie who is after Leveque because he's planning to sell Aztec, a biochemical weapon handily carried in a secured case.
After they avoid being captured by various bounty hunters , Sadie finds out where Leveque wanted them to take Cole. She uses it to her advantage by pretending to be a bounty hunter and taking Cole to Leveque to get her hands on Aztec. In a crime scene photo of Elena's death, he spots an amaranth in the background, which is a crop often used in rituals by the Aztecs. Sadie realises Elena took it from Dr Horvath, who created Aztec and was obsessed with the Aztecs' use of human sacrifice, so she works out that the amaranth's genetic sequence is the passcode.
