Ballinascreen's Benny Heron calls time on his Derry career after 11 years of inter-county service having helped the Oak Leafers win two Ulster titles.
The Ballinascreen club-man, 32, was part of the Derry team that won back-to-back Ulster titles in 2022 and 2023.
Heron's retirement means he will play no part in Derry's new era under former Tyrone manager Mickey Harte, who was appointed Oak Leaf boss in September. In a statement marking Heron's retirement, Derry GAA said: "An ace finisher with an eye for goal, Benny Heron matched talent with an utterly selfless attitude and was one of the most respected footballers in Derry over the past decade.
