Southport Lifeboat confirmed that crews were called by HM Coastguard to reports of a despondent man near Southport Pier
A "despondent" man was helped by emergency services after they were called to reports of concerns for his safety.
The lifeboat's drone was launched and a search of the pier and marshes was undertaken using a thermal camera. After an extensive search, the casualty was eventually found by the mobile coastguard team near Marine Lake.No further details have been released about the casualty and no injuries were reported. Southport Lifeboat posted details about the rescue on their Facebook page.
