A Telford charity says the number of meals it has provided to struggling households this year has topped 100,000 - already much more than at the height of the pandemic.
Telford Crisis Support of Operations Manager Simon Lellow
Mr Lellow forecasts the number of meals handed out will, at the least, top the 150,000 mark by the end of 2022. "But the numbers are up, year on year, and it's just so worrying. Things are continually on the rise and not showing any signs of easing."We've not been in this position before as an organisation or as a country to be honest and because of the summer recess, there are no practical measures being put in place."From our perspective, the way it's going, even at the rate it is at the moment, we are looking at 150,000 plus meals provided this year.
