As for who he’d like to see replace Ms Truss, Mr Aberley gives the impression he’s had enough of even thinking about that. “The mini-Budget did for her,” he says. “I’m not saying the policies were wrong as I agreed with a lot of them. Most of them in fact. But she was never the choice of the MPs and they have ridden over the wishes of the membership to oust her as soon as they could.
