12 dodgy police officers from Lancashire who lied, cheated and betrayed their profession
A Lancashire custody sergeant 'lost control' while detaining a vulnerable woman who later died, an investigation has found.
The disciplinary hearing at Leyland over the past two weeks heard how Ms Hartigan-Burns was arrested and put in a cell at Greenbank late on December 3, 2016, but was later found in an unresponsive state. She was subsequently taken by ambulance to Blackburn Hospital where she was pronounced dead.A police officer has been sacked after he wrongfully accessed police databases and sent private details of up to 15 people to a WhatsApp group.
An anonymous complaint was eventually registered with Lancashire Constabulary and when interviewed, McHugh answered no questions but gave a prepared statement admitting he had accessed the databases and then disclosed information to third parties.
