A woman was taken to hospital for treatment for injuries to her arm

"Police were required to shoot the dog to stop it from attacking the woman," a spokesperson told Belfast Live, who also confirmed the dog was now dead."As is normal procedure, the office of the Police Ombudsman have been informed."
