Eight teams play in the men’s premiership, with 2022 champions Winam beginning their defence with a 38-0 home win over Centurion.
In the other matches, Rift Valley Ruffians defeated Ngong 24-0; in a thriller a try four minutes from time by Omburu Lemuel – his second of the game – saw Wolves overcome Rhinos 36-32; and Elvis Otieno ran in four tries as AP Warriors triumphed 76-22 over Kitengela Sharks. In the second division Counties League, Rift Valley defeated Ngong 32-6, and in the opening women’s game between the two sides, Rift Valley were again victorious, 24-6.
