The funding will secure the future of the ranger service and mean the group can plan ahead with confidence
The group has received grants from both the Blackcraig Windfarm Community Fund and Galloway Hydro Scheme owners Drax, meaning it can plan ahead with confidence.
As well as providing security, it has allowed head ranger Leanne Pumpr to start developing a multi-year programme for the service. “If you would like to know more about the work of the ranger service, or are interested in getting involved, please get in touch.” Meanwhile, Drax has awarded the trust nearly £50,000, securing the jobs of the back-office team of trust manager Barney Fryer and support officer Lindsay Stewart.
Drax Group head of community, Shona King, said: “We’re proud to help fund the Loch Ken Trust’s valuable work which promotes our shared values of protecting the natural environment and providing educational opportunities.
