Drew Barrymore apologizes for 'making light of' Johnny Depp and Amber Heard trial by saying it's 'a seven-layer dip of insanity'
The 47-year-old actress took to her Instagram on Sunday to share a one-minute video to apologize for what she said about the high-profile defamation trial. The backlash began after she touched on the subject during a segment for The Drew Barrymore Show last week. She said: 'It's like one layer of crazy, it’s a seven-layer dip of insanity'.
After receiving a slew of criticism online, the veteran Hollywood star seemingly bowed to pressure and issued a public apology for her comments. She 'deeply apologized', adding that she 'appreciated everyone who spoke out', saying this will be a 'teachable moment for her'. The trial started on April 11 and is set to last another three weeks.
