A 'spineless' drink driver has been jailed after killing a Watford FC fan in a hit-and-run.
Andrew Leonard, 47, overtook a Vauxhall Corsa before hitting motorcyclist David Greenleaf, who was riding in front of the car.
Following the hearing, Mr Greenleaf’s family said: “Life is sometimes very cruel and this is an occasion when a thoughtless, spineless individual has caused needless grief and pain to many people.“David was a hard working caring individual who served his community as a postman for over 30 years. He cared for and loved his daughter Helen and grandchildren. His past time passion was Watford FC who he followed home and away for the majority of his life.
“As a result, this case now serves as an example of the tragic consequences that drink driving can have.”
