Tragic news. RIP
Police have issued an appealed following the road traffic collision, which occurred on Liverpool Road South in Burscough. Emergency services were called to the scene at 9.35pm.
Officers have asked witnesses and anyone with dashboard mounted camera footage to come forward. A Vauxhall Astra car was involved in the incident when it collided with a bus stop.Lancashire Constabulary has confirmed the driver, a 60-year-old man, later died in hospital. A spokesperson for the force said: "A Vauxhall Astra car was in collision with a bus stop and very sadly the driver, a 60-year-old man, later died in hospital. Our thoughts are with his family at this difficult time."
Liverpool Road South was closed for some time following the collision. Anyone who witnessed the collision or has dashcam footage from the area around the time, can contact 101 - quoting log 1140 of January 2, 2023.
