Here's what you need to know ⚠️
UK drivers have been issued a warning that they could be hit with a £1,000 fine due to a little-known parking rule.
As reported by The Mirror, Chris Williams from leading car competitions company BOTB has warned that drivers need to familiarise themselves with the lesser-known rules to avoid a costly fine or even an accident. He stated: "Many of the laws surrounding UK driving are understood by most road users and wouldn't present much of a problem. But what catches drivers out are the less common laws - these are the ones that you likely don't think about when behind the wheel.
Failure to follow this rule could result in you being hit with a £1,000 fine. As stated by Rule 248 of the Highway Code: "You must not park on a road at night facing against the direction of the traffic flow unless in a recognised parking space." A spokesperson for car scrapping comparison site Scrapcarcomparison.co.uk commented: "Motors parked the correct way would be visible and illuminated by headlights bouncing off the rear reflectors.
