The amount of vehicles that are due for an MOT test will reportedly soar by as much as 23 per cent in the coming months.
As reported by the Daily Express, almost 10 million vehicles will need to undergo an MOT between September and November. A Freedom of Information request by MOT specialists at BookMyGarage.co.uk revealed that millions of tests will be required before the end of 2022.As a result, motorists are being encouraged to book their test as soon as possible. Drivers can get an MOT up to a month before it runs out while keeping the same renewal date.
She commented: “We anticipated the dip in demand for MOTs earlier this year, and looking at the data again, the die has been cast and we will see a significant wave of vehicles requiring an MOT from August onwards. While September will likely be the busiest month, once we are into August, garages will be getting busy and are likely to put up prices.
