Drug dealer rumbled after cops find heroin worth £1.9million hidden in secret compartment inside his Citroen Berlingo
A drug dealer was rumbled after police found a huge stash of heroin - worth £1.9m - hidden in secret compartments in his Citroen Berlingo van.
Police said he was seen driving the Citroen back and forth from his home address in Rochdale, and 'kept accessing the rear of the vehicle'. Subsequent checks by officers revealed he was a banned driver and he was arrested. Mohammed, of Alicia Drive, Rochdale, was jailed for nine years and seven months last week by a judge sitting at Manchester's Minshull Street Crown Court for possession with intent to supply class A drugs, namely heroin, as well as three counts of driving whilst disqualified. He pleaded guilty to all the charges he faced and was sentenced last Thursday.
"PNC checks on Mohammed revealed that he had been disqualified from driving on the 18 March 2022, a ban which should have lasted until 17 December 2022. He was arrested a short time later, on Thursday 8 September 2022 and was found to be in possession of a set of keys for the Citroen Berlingo van, which was located further up Alicia Drive.
