The BBC said Nolan did not sit on the interview panel for the role
A DUP MP has accused BBC Northern Ireland presenter Stephen Nolan of ‘rigging’ a recruitment process for a position on his production team.
“During the summer recess, I was given a very disturbing volume of internal BBC material,” the DUP told the debate in Westminster Hall. “For context Mr Chairman, this was a widely listened to radio show in Northern Ireland at the time and to work on the programme was a highly prized and much sought after position.
“They lost out because, unlike the winning candidate, the presenter did not ring them up and give them the interview questions in advance.Campbell described the alleged actions of those within the BBC as ‘appalling’. “This is appalling, these are not the actions of what once was a proud bastion of truth and integrity.”
