Adrian Durham finally gives Arsenal credit, but delivers verdict on Mikel Arteta ahead of new season AFC
During his 16 years as host of talkSPORT Drive, Adrian Durham hasn’t often had nice things to say about Arsenal., when he praised Gunners boss Mikel Arteta – and new signing Gabriel Jesus – but believes them not finishing in the top four this season would be a ‘failure’.
“I think too much is being read into Chelsea and everything that’s going on with Chelsea after that performance,” Durham told talkSPORT. “Not enough is being said about Arsenal.“I did say last week that Gabriel Jesus is the signing of the summer and I stand by that as well.
“Abramovich would have sacked him about five or six times by now, so they’ve been very patient with Arteta, the fans have been patient with Arteta as well, so now it’s time for Arteta to deliver. “And, fair play, they’re giving him time, and there’s nothing wrong with that. But now it’s time for him to give back to the owners, to the players, and to the fans as well.
