A number of initiatives are in place
A number of payments are set to arrive over the next month for those claiming benefits from the Department for Work and Pensions . There are a number of packages on the way for households feeling the pinch as the cost of living crisis continues.
There will also be a separate £150 payment for more than six million people. And extra £300 for over eight million pensioners will also be paid in winter. The usual support and pension payments will continue as normal and includes universal credit, state pension credit, disability living allowance, Personal independence payment, attendance allowance, carer’s allowance, employment support allowance, income support and jobseeker’s allowance.The Energy Price Guarantee, which capped the price of electricity and gas bills, was particularly prevalent in the winter months.
