DWP also confirmed that Jobcentre Plus opening times will be different for the bank holiday Monday following the King’s Coronation
The Department for Work and Pensions has confirmed scheduled payments including State Pension, Universal Credit and Carer’s Allowance which are due on the Coronation bank holiday next Monday will land in bank accounts this Friday, May 5. Payments from HM Revenue and Customs such as Child Benefit and Tax Credits will also arrive early.
Scheduled payments delivered by HMRC due to arrive on Monday, May 8 will also land in bank accounts on Friday, May 8. More than one million people currently claiming Tax Credits are set to receive the £301 cost of living payment between May 2-9, 2023. Buckingham Palace said in tribute to the King's public service, the big help out ‘will encourage people to try volunteering for themselves and join the work being undertaken to support their local areas’. The aim of the day is to use volunteering to bring communities together and create a lasting volunteering legacy from the Coronation weekend.
