The DWP released an update
The Government has announced details on when new cost of living payments will be rolled out to more than eight million eligible people this year. Chancellor Jeremy Hunt first announced the next round of cost of living support in his Autumn Statement, and the Department for Work and Pensions has now announced when people can expect it.
The new support will see £900 being given to over eight million eligible means-tested benefits claimants. This will include people on Universal Credit, Pensions Credit, tax credits and the Jobseekers Allowance.As well as payments to benefit claimants, there will be payments made to over six million disabled people and over eight million pensioners.
People who are eligible for the payments will receive the money automatically and will not need to apply. Exact payment dates are set to be announced closer to the time.
