The DWP has also announced that claims for New State Pension made online will be measured this year

Figures released earlier this year by the Department for Work and Pensions indicated that fraud and error in the benefit system is falling as the UK Government restated its determination to drive levels down further and protect taxpayers’ money. The latest national statistics show that in the last year, fraud and error rates fell to 3.6 per cent from 4.0 per cent .

During the next financial year, the DWP has announced that it will measure a sample of claims from six specific benefits as part of its fraud and error exercise for 2024. In a new update on GOV.UK, the DWP also announced that the State Pension measurement will include claims administered through the ‘Get Your State Pension online' service in the financial year ending 2024.
