EA has made a range of Mass Effect and Dragon Age DLC free on Origin ahead of plans to discontinue its BioWare Points currency
Most DLC for Dragon Age 2, Dragon Age Origins, Mass Effect 2 and Mass Effect 3 that was previously only purchasable with BioWare Points is now available free, according to an email being sent to players and reposted onOne exception is Mass Effect 3 multiplayer packs, which will still be purchasable with BioWare Points until the currency is discontinued on October 11.After this date, multiplayer packs will only be redeemable with credits earned in-game.
“For the next Dragon Age, we are right in the middle of production, which is a great feeling,” he said. “Our blueprint was completed last year, so we’re now focused on building out our vision: creating amazing environments, deep characters, strong gameplay, impactful writing, emotional cinematics – and much more. The blueprint for the game is well understood and the team is focused.”It’s also claimed that EA has no plans for a remastered Dragon Age trilogy
McKay also said of the Mass Effect team: “They are all actively prototyping new ideas and experiences. AAA next-gen games take a long time to make – and we know our fans may want them sooner. But our Number One priority needs to be quality, and that simply takes time to get it right.
