Jalen Hurts suffered a sprained shoulder that’s not considered a long-term injury Sunday in the Eagles' game against the Bears, a league source confirmed to ZBerm and Bo_Wulf. Early indications are that Hurts could be out for the next two weeks.
Hurts took a hard hit in the third quarter Sunday and was slow to get up, but finished the game without apparent issue.Hurts is in the midst of an MVP-caliber season, throwing for 3,472 yards and 22 touchdowns with five interceptions, adding another 13 touchdowns on the ground. The Eagles are 13-1.Early indications, according to a report by The Philadelphia Inquirer, are that Hurts could be out for the next two weeks.
The Eagles’ magic number for clinching the No. 1 seed in the NFC is just one, though, so there’s a chance we might not see Hurts again until the Eagles play at home in the divisional round four weeks from now. If that timetable is accurate, the injury might affect his MVP chances more than anything else. Clearly, the team’s top priority will be making sure the quarterback is as healthy as possible for the playoffs.
