Coronation Street stars past and present turned out to celebrate the marriage of Charlie Lawson and Debbie Stanley, but it was a certain familiar face presiding over proceedings that very nearly stole the show.
Charlie – who played Coronation Street’s fiery Jim McDonald from 1989 until 2000 and made brief comebacks between 2003 and 2018 – couldn’t have been more thrilled by Eamonn’s appearance. Charlie and Debbie stood either side of Eamonn, who had the guests bursting into laughter during his tongue-in-cheek ceremony duties., which included a quip suggesting Debbie 'could have married him', saying: "It could have been me, darling".
