East 17 star Terry Coldwell thinks the band was ahead of its time and their sound would fit right into today's music scene.
They also found success with the likes of House of Love and Let It Rain, and Terry – the last founding member still part of the band – believes their early songs are ‘timeless.’
In an interview with Bang Showbiz, the star explained that should a person listen to House of Love, released in 1992, ‘it’s so relevant to what is going on in the world today. He went on: ‘I think a lot of the East 17 tracks, they were so different to any other artist around at the time. You can listen to them now and a lot of them fit into today’s music scene.
The Christmas hit is unique in that it was not written in the hopes of being a Christmas banger, and instead relates to loss and grief.Ollie, Terry said he receives ‘loads of messages’ every year saying the song has been played at someone’s funeral.
