Elliott appeared on his way to his fifth victory of the 2022 NASCAR Cup Series season but got shoved out of the groove by his Hendrick Motorsports teammate Kyle Larson on a restart with five of 90 laps remaining.
Asked whether he would have a follow-up conversation with Larson, Elliott said, “Congratulations. He did a great job. Seriously, they deserve it. Looking forward to going to next week and trying to get one for our team.” It wasn’t a bad day by any means for Elliott as he claimed the 2022 regular season championship and the 15 playoff points that come with it.
