Some residents in Atherton said they were 'stuck' in their homes as police responded to the incident
There was a large emergency service presence in Atherton tonight as officers responded to reports of concern for the welfare of a man.
One resident said on social media that she was 'stuck' inside her bungalow with officers not allowing her outside her gates whilst it was ongoing. She said: “The police have been there a lot with an ambulance but today was massive. There was the fire brigade and tactical team. We did wonder what it was.” GMP didn't release any further details about the incident. Emergency services left the scene around 7pm.
