Former Emmerdale actor Ben Freeman has quit the long running ITV soap after a bagging a major role in a US TV show show.
The casting is said to be a 'dream' for the British TV star, a source said: “It’s a great role and fans will be delighted to see him in the show. Ben’s done a lot of stage work recently and his fans will love seeing him back on screens.”Ben is no stranger to the acting world, his first notable role was as Chris Longworth in the children's series Grange Hill, a role he portrayed from 1996 to 1998.
In between that time Freeman took his career to the stage, playing the Prince in William Shakespeare's play Romeo and Juliet, Warner in the final cast of Legally Blonde and Norman in Dreamboats and Petticoats, both in West End theatre.
