UK Government minister Ms Badenoch claims people who want her to condemn the SNP leadership candidate 'don't understand equality'
in which she has said she would still vote against same-sex marriage, opposes a ban on conversion therapy that includes religious groups, and considers having children out of wedlock to be “wrong”.
“That’s one of the things that makes this country great. It’s one of the reasons why many people want to live here.” Citing her role as Women and Equalities Minister, she said: “To ask me to criticise someone for their religious beliefs, when I’m supposed to be safeguarding it, shows that those people don’t understand equality.
But asked later in an interview with STV if she was still committed to seeing her campaign through, despite the loss of support, she replied: “At the moment, yes.”
