The midfielder's stoppage-time double against Brentford last time out makes him an irresistible Man Utd pick, according to one pundit.
Premier League winner Tim Sherwood says Scott McTominay has given Erik ten Hag no excuse for benching him against Sheffield United after his late double against Brentford.
Speaking to Sky Sports about McTominay, the former Blackburn star said: “He has to start today. He has forced the manager’s arm. He’s come off that bench with the attitude he showed, the desire to want to turn this game around. Sherwood added: “And when they’re celebrating over two injury time goals against Brentford - with respect - it is not good enough. The manager has to take some responsibility for the performances of that team. He’s done well last season, he’s taking them back this season. The best players are the ones coming off the bench.”
