Man United will be forced into changing their midfield set-up with Mason Mount injured and Christian Eriksen likely to replace him
Whether a change would have been made or not is unclear but Erik ten Hag will be forced to adjust his Manchester United midfield this weekend.
Things will change against Nottingham Forest because of injury. Mason Mount is facing a spell on the sidelines and won't be back until the international break which will force Ten Hag to make alterations. Eriksen will at least give United a better chance of sustaining attacks and retaining possession. Unlike Mount, he doesn't have the same physical attributes to hunt the ball but he will offer more composure on it.
Eriksen's inclusion will at least give some clarity over the dilemma of chicken and egg. Is the new system the issue, or have Casemiro's legs tired? Is Mount the problem?
