UPDATE: All lanes now running again.
Traffic Scotland issued an alert advising drivers of the closure around 18:15pm this evening.
Traffic is reportedly queuing back as a result, with drivers currently being advised to use an alternative route if possible and expect delays as a result.A Traffic Scotland alert read: "The A898 Erskine bridge is closed in both directions due to a police incident. Motorists are advised to use an alternative route and allow extra time for their journey."
