Johnson has always erred on the gothic side when it comes to occasion dressing. She loves black lace, ruffles and leather, and the sort of faintly subversive twist a certain Christian Grey would no doubt approve of. On the rare occasions she strays from her signature black, Dakota retains her air of vamp via tumbling raven waves, a slash of plum lipstick, or dramatic, almost antique-looking crystal embellishments.

Or perhaps it was inevitable: she is after all the granddaughter of Tippi Hedren, Hitchcock blonde and star of, still one of the most chilling horror films of all time. Don’t expect to see this girl in a candy-pink ballgown on the red carpet any time soon.
