Keep these in mind if you're heading out today
The UK will spend their day mourning the loss of the late Queen Elizabeth II, as her state funeral takes place today in London.
Public Schools As confirmed by Glasgow City Council last week, schools and nurseries will be closed in the city to mark their respect. Surrounding areas, including East Renfrewshire, have also confirmed schools with be closed today. A spokesperson for the council said: "Household bin collections will not go ahead as scheduled on the 19th. We are currently working on plans to minimise the impact on residents and further information will be shared as soon as it is available.”
Other stores in Glasgow shutting their doors include B&Q, Argos, Homebase, Ikea, Poundland, Primark, WH Smith, Dunelm and John Lewis. Buchanan Galleries will honour bank holiday opening hours, but have allowed shops to make their own decision on whether to keep their shutters down. Meanwhile, the National Trust for Scotland has confirmed their buildings and gardens will be closed. Most cinemas will be closed today to honour the Queen, including Odeon and Cineworld.
