After being taken to the hospital with a medical emergency, Ryan said his daughter’s six hour wait to be seen by a doctor and receive an X ray was ‘deeply distressing’
A former Fermanagh GAA star has hit out at the treatment received by his young daughter by the NHS and called for change.
“Our 4-year-old daughter was brought to our local hospital around 7pm due to a medical emergency on the mentioned date. Unfortunately, our experience was marred by a distressing wait of 6 hours before our daughter received the necessary attention from a doctor and underwent the required X-ray. “The rationale behind choosing such a distant location for this crucial procedure is not clear, and it caused undue stress and inconvenience to my family and the accompanying medical personnel,” he adds.
“It is worth noting, however, that I can't help but commend the staff and medical teams who attended to us during this trying time. Their dedication and professionalism were evident despite the challenging circumstances.” The spokesperson said: “These concerns have been shared with the relevant Clinical teams, however, due to patient/client confidentiality we would not be responding to individual cases.
