Exact time 50mph winds to batter Lancashire as Met Office issues weather warning
The yellow alert, for wind, is active between 3pm today and 3am tomorrow . Preston, Blackpool, Lancaster, Lytham, Fleetwood and West Lancs are covered by the warning while eastern areas of the county, including Blackburn, Burnley, Hyndburn, Rossendale and Pendle, are excluded.
The Met Office says that there is 'a period of strong winds bringing the potential for some disruption later on Tuesday and perhaps into the early hours of Wednesday.' According to the forecast, Blackpool is set to be hit with the strongest winds - with them peaking at 49mph this evening at 8pm.As a result of the conditions, the weather experts have warned that there may be some delays to transport and some short-term power loss.
