There's not long to wait until the Blackpool Illuminations are switched on for another year. The annual light show is set to wow thousands of families heading to the seaside resort's promenade for four months from Friday, September 1.
The lights will then glow each night until January 1, 2024. The free switch-on event returns to outdoors on the prom for the first time in four years. It will take place on Tower Festival Headland and include a Nickelodeon parade and live family-friendly entertainment. The household name celebrity tasked with the responsibility of flicking the switch has not yet been revealed.If you are planning a trip to soak in the illuminations this season, which are free to attend, then make sure you check out the times the lights will be switched on and off on the night of your visit.
They vary slightly depending on peak times, with the lights shining until later at night at weekends. Please note: They will be switched on later during midweek and earlier on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. The exact timing of the switch-on for the launch on Friday, September 1 could vary due to the live nature of the event.
